WH-1000XM3 Fast Charger

Hello,

I just bought WH-1000XM3 3 days ago. I am having strange issue if i try to charge WH-1000XM3 with Samsung or OnePlus 6T fast charger, it doesnt charge (Red light turns on and then turns off after 10 seconds) i have to connect it to my PC only to charge? why is that so? it should be fine with my mobile charger ??

Hi there

I think the supplied cable and the headphones aren't compatible with those chargers' power output. In theory, you should use a maximum of 1.5 A (5V).

Why in the world do ppl on forums with zero to add which which even remotely pertains to the particular question originally asked by OP feel the need to interject with their completely irrelevant experience and or opinion? Really odd psychology

I'm using the fast charger that came with my Huawei P30 pro. It's a 5v, 5 amp charger that charges my phone at 40 watts! I have no issues at all, it works perfectly. I've recently been reading up on usb c charging as I bought a new e-cig that charges up to 2 amps, I was wondering which chargers would be safe to use. It seems that as long as I use a 5 volt charger I'll be OK. The trick is to use the correct cable (the one that came with the device you're charging) to be on the safe side. This will be limited to what the device can cope with safely. Having said that, most modern devices will only draw a safe current from the charger and will tell the charger what to deluver current wise. So my P30 pro charger, which is a fast charger, will draw the 2 amp maximum (1.5 amps with my Sony wf1009xm3s) at first, slowing down as the battery charges, so the battery doesn't overheat. To be absolutely sure you don't cause any damage to the battery that you're chargibg, simply make sure you use the cable that came with the device you are charging. I time how long it takes to fully charge, then the next time I charge it, I'll use the cable I got with my phone (which is limited to 5 amps) and time how ling it takes to fully charge. If it's a very similar time to the 1st charge where I used the cable that came with the device I'm charging, then it's probably tellung the charger the maximum current it can safely cope with, even though the charger and cable are capable of delivering more current. Then I can be fairly sure (ish) that I can use my phone's fast charger with the phone's cable. Just so that I don't have to change the cable every time I put something on charge and don't have to make sure that I don't get the cables mixed up. Hope this has been some help to those who were wondering.
