Experiencing severe battery drain especially in the left bud after just 8 months.
Yes I have tried resetting them. I dont want to fiddle with anymore settings. I did not touch anything for months and the behaviour changed.
Why is it so difficult to get a hold of a representative to get these serviced? I've never had this problem with Samsung. I've had my Jabra 65t Elite for 4 years, I use them every day along side these and I dont have this problem.
Yes, I am not happy. The WF-1000XM3 had this wierd ghost connect issue too. I think I'm done with Sony.
Hi @WillGood and welcome to the Community
Your headphones should still be in warranty, where did you purchase them?
Bought them from Amazon. Called Amazon and they said I should contact Sony. Amazon will give me a call on Friday just to see how things are going. They gave me Sony's support line number, which I will call tomorrow.
My main worry is that, this might be a constant thing. Will I be on the phone with Sony every 8 months asking for new buds? Guess I find out tomorrow.
Thanks for responding.
Please tell support you've already tried resetting them etc. as that will be probably their first suggestion.
Hopefully this will be sorted soon for you.
Keep us posted
Sent them and they returned with only one side being repaired. The left side. Had to send them back again.
I looked deeper into the issue and it turns out the XM3 also have this problem. Just one look at the comment section of the long term reviews on YouTube (xm3 and xm4) and you'll see people with usages ranging from 6-18 months complaining about battery drain.
Well, this is my last pair of Sony buds, ever. I was also thinking about buying the Xperia 1 IV before this incident but now I'm having second thoughts about Sony's battery quality. Battery is one of the most basic things you have to nail on these devices.
Hey @WillGood,
Sad to hear about your experience buddy, yea that sounds bad especially sending the left side again.
But keep us posted to check if it was finally repaired or not.
Also, you might wanna reconsider buying the Xperia 1 IV since with it will come with a WH-1000XM4 if you're gonna buy it in the promotion period, which is a solid over ear headphones in my opinion.
Might wanna check that before making up your mind, cheers buddy.
