Hi,
I'm hoping someone might be able to answer this for me?
I have a 2015 Ford B-Max (with a SONY Audio system) but the system doesn't recognise my NW-A100 walkman as an audio device via the USB so I can only play it through the car via Bluetooth; which is fine except that I can't change an album via the in-car controls and have to do it via the actual walkman.
My question is could I connect the NW-A100 via the Amazon Echo Auto to my car and be able to control my walkman through that? It runs on the Android system but not sure if it would work as it's not a smartphone.
Any info would be great!
Cheers,
Jonathan
Hello @Goudeskitchen,
as far as I am concerned Echo Auto requires the cellular internet connection of the connected smartphone, I doubt, that you can connect the Echo Auto to the Walkman, connect it to your smartphones cellular connection via thethering and control the Echo Auto that way.
It is a long stretch, but can't you use Amazon Alexa on the walkman instead of the google assistant (Hey Google) to control music playback that way while the Walkman is connected to your smartphones internet via thethering? That would save you the money for the Echo Auto.
I just tested my NW-A105 and it appears to have a microphone build in, so this should work (at least in theory).
Replacing the Google Assistant with Alexa should work by following these steps:

Hey Goudeskitche, which model of the A100 series do you have? Also, why Echo Auto ?
