Wireless connection prob

I'm having a nightmare connecting through my wireless router (netgear WGR614 v6). I can connect quickly and with know difficulty through a wired connection through the router but when I try to connect through the wireless I click on IE7 and it says "connecting to site ..." then it says IE7 unable to connect to this site. I plug the wires back in and no problem! When I click on the wireless icon it advises me that my signal strength is excellent and that I am connected wirelessley but I still can't get anything. I've tried teh wireless LAN starter and it seems to say everything OK and I've checked the router and even reinstalled it from scratch (checking wep connections, passwords etc) and still nothing. My partner has no problems connecting with her HP computer but I just can't get through it. I’ve checked device manager and everything seems to be working properly.

Previously my wireless had been working fine. I have just been using the wired connection for the last few months and it’s only recently, trying to use wireless again that this problem has become evident. My notebook is a vgn-fs215s
I’m at a loss. Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Do you have a firewall running? This might be blocking or giving limited access to the IP for the wireless card.

If you download the file attached and disconnect from the ethernet port in the router and turn on the wireless. When it has appeared to have connected and it actually doesn't work run the file and wait for about 30 seconds and try again.

It sounds like your router isn't giving you an IP in the correct gateway.

PS. Do you have the latest firmware for your router?

Thanks for all suggestions. I've given them a shot. It's so bizarreI still can't resolve the problem. Says it's connected. Signal strength excellent but no pages come up??

Double click the wireless "two screens" icon
Click on the support tab
