wireless adapter issues

Just bought a K415S and set it up in the sitting room right next to my belkin wireless adsl router yet the wireless card is not picking it up.

Any ideas?

are they both switched on?

Is the router broadcasting the SSID?

Is the card installed properly?

Check you have the correct SSiD and that you've sorted the security.

Try to connect your Router with a LAN cable, before you try to connect the Router via WLAN. That makes easier to configure the WLAN on the Router, because you have a connection about the LAN cable.

this is my first notebook and I didnt notice the switch on the front that switches the wireless on!
