I' ve been through all the threads regarding camera capture etc but I think it's the actual web cam that wont run / install.
In the device manager the webcam is listed but has the little exclamation mark by it - the driver details says this device cannot start (code 10)
If i uninstall the webcam it wont berecognised on restart ( as in plug n play ) so I have to manualy install it. I have to add hardware, imaging device & then it finds it, loads the drivers etc. but it wont open & code 10 keeps coming up in device manager.
it used to work.......................... but intermittently !!
Starting to regret this purchase ( couldn't get the blu ray to play either so had to buy a new programme)

ps
all updates installed
Try going to C:\Drivers\Camera\VGP-VCC4.
Here are the camera drivers. Run install.bat and then when it is installed reboot.
Is the error code still there?
If it is then goto device manager and right-click -> update.. on the camera icon.
Now choose to manually select the driver from the directry.
On the next screen choose the second of the options and then on the third screen select have disk.
Now navigate to C:\drivers\cameras\VGP-VCC4 and click on the inf file and click open and the driver will install.
Reboot.
Does this work?

Thanks,
tried & got the message "windows found sofware for your device but encountered an error whilst trying to install it"
I'll keep trying..............
