Vaio VGN-AR11B Ram capability

Greetings all

I need to upgrade my Ram capability. Can i put two Ram dimms of 2 GBs on my notebook? I ask because it says 2 GBs capability but nowadays there is dimms of 2 GBs and 4 Gbs.

Everywhere I have seen tells me maximum of 1GB per slot = 2GB MAX

i was thinking that, being a notebook from 2006, with 2 slots for Ram, it could be able to support at least 4 Gbs of Ram, not 2 Gbs, when at that time the dimms were not the ones we buy today.
