Hi
I am trying to re-install my operating system as the laptop crashed (Vaio - VGN-B1VP).
There are seven recovery discs and while installing the second disc, there is a reading error and the entire installation is getting aborted .
What should I do?
Please advice
Thank You
Regards
Chari
Hi Chari
welcome to Club vaio..
Does pressing F10 repeatedly when starting you vaio, this normally would start the recovery process..
Hi
Thank you for the quick reply
I tried pressing F10 but i get "error in loading the operating system"
I guess my CD - 2 is corrupted although I am not able to see any visible scratches.
Any idea?
Thank You
Chari
Hi simhan_chari,
Have you tried burning a copy of CD 2 and then trying again with the new copy..??
Is your recovery partition still intact, you can check by going to Start > Control panel > Performance and Maintenance > Administrative Tools > Computer Management..
A new window should open click on Disk Management and maximise the window .
You should see Recovery Partition, C and D partitions.
Hi
The system totally crashed and I have deleted the recovery partition as soon as I made the recovery disk
.
Any chance of recovery?
Thanks
Chari
Are you able to copy disc 2 on another PC..?
If not you can contact Vaio-Link if you want to purchase a new set of recovery DVD's..:smileysad:
