I have a Vaio VGN-FE31H, with some strange problems concerning the sound:
* when I play a you-tube movie in Internet Explorer, I hear the sound of the movie (that's ok!)
* however, all other Windows programs cannot make a connection to the sound card.
In the Configuration Panel, "Sounds and audio", tab "Hardware", I see that "SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC is available and the status is "this device is working correctly".
However, on the other tabs ("Volume", "Audio", "Speach"), all controls are disabled. The tab "Volume" even says "No audio device".
What has happened? How can I reactivate or reinstall the sound card?
