hope you are all well. I was just wandering if anyone has an ideas how i open this baby up to clean out all the collected fluff and dust. I am sure its this thats making it heat up. a diagram would be even more helpfull... speak soon peeps!

Hi Greg,

Good to see you around again.

I don’t have any disassembly instructions for the FS series, but can I suggest that you first try a few blasts of compressed air directed at the cooling vents from a distance of approx. 100mm (with can held upright). This usually solves the problem as long as the build up of crud is not too great.

hiya m8 i have the vgn-fs315m aswell i took the base off mine and it has alot of things in it but i must say it is easy to clean but mine still has a time when it likes to get hot the fan only cools the cpu down so that is how you find the fan at the verry back

hi bucko... i have tried on a few occasions to remove the base but it dont budge! are there any hidden screws? i guess i only need to remove the speaker panel but who knows lol.. thanks for replying mate. i have done this on my kids packard bell, and dell laptops.. they were so simple! vaio on the other.. is definitley like.no.other lol
