Replacing Drives

I have an old PCV-RX402 (from about 2002) and would really like to fit an internal DVD burner as my old external DVD burner is about ready to be retired.

Does anybody know how you are supposed to do this without having to take a cutting torch to the case!? The optical drives are surrounded by what appears to be a fixed cage wich runs the full length of the case and every joint appears to be riveted. Anybody know of a secret screw!?

Maybe I will attach some pictures later

Hi duffdo,

This is from distant memory so it is not too detailed!

Take side panel off (You have obviously done this).
2 clips at the back of the top of the case - top panel comes off.
2 clips either top or bottom (can't remember) of front panel - whole front panel including drive doors comes off.
Undo drive cables (fiddly) and there may be a couple of screws holding the drive to be removed.
Drive just slides out the front easy as pie.

In some models both drives come out the front together in a cage.

Sorry it's vague but it may give you the general idea.
