"Green Screen"/Disco flash

Ok, the problem is: when i turn my vaio-notebook on, i get lots of green lines (vertical and sometimes horisontaly).
i have did connect another screen to the vaio, but the problem remained.
I wonder if the problem lies in the hardware or the software.
Please help me someone!
i have owned my vaio for exactly 2 weeks and im furious!

You not indicated after the green lights... Do you have access to the personal computer or not... ???

or did you have access before and did the problem appear later?

or After initializing Windows...

Depending on the situation, the use of the recovery disk and well coming...

It sounds like a hardware problem to me.

Try using the recovery CD/DVD or hard disk partition (after you have backed up any critical data files). This will reset your computer back to factory default. If the fault is still appearing then it is likely that this is NOT a software fault. VAIO-Link will ask you to do this.

If the fault is intermittent and occurs rarely then it is harder to diagnose.

If after you have performed the above, the fault still reappears, you definately have a hardware fault. In this case ring VAIO-Link between 9am-6pm weekdays (Monday to Friday), for assistance. You will find the link to VAIO-Links website below, click on Contact Details for the phone number.

Yeah I have to agree with James here, sounds like a serious hardware issue.
