hello people, i hav a ar31e laptop and iam trying to install itunes on it, everything goes well untill a little box comes up saying.....
itunes cannot be installed because visual basic script (vbscript) is not installed or has been disabled. make sure vbscript is installed, turn off script blocking in anti-virus and personall firewall software, re-register vbscript and then install itunes .
arghhhh... what does this mean?????
any help would be greatly appreciated,
thanks ,
den.
Hi den.
Using XP I presume?
1. On the Start menu, click Run.
2. In the "Open" field, enter the following command and click OK. (Space after 32 and dot before dll - may be best to copy from here and paste)
regsvr32 vbscript.dll
3. A message should appear stating that the "DllRegisterServer in C:\WINDOWS\system32\vbscript.dll succeeded."
4. Click OK and try installing iTunes or QuickTime again.
If that doesn't work, try downloading the latest VBScript 5.6 from Microsoft.

hi thanks for the help but i havent got xp i have vista... any ideas for the vbscript problem?
thanx
den.
Hi Den,
It should be exactly the same in Vista.
I'm on a XP Vaio at the moment but you need to open a Command Prompt with Administrator rights, navigate to C:\Windows\System32 and run the command -
regsvr32 vbscript.dll
This should allow you to install the Vista version of iTunes.

i hav done this but it comes up with ....regsvr32vbscript.dll is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable programe or batch file.
Have you put a space in between regsvr32 and vbscript.dll
regsvr32 vbscript.dll

ah ha.... i got it... wasnt putting the space after 32... doh
thanks for the help,
iam bery happy now
