High Capacity Batytery - Or Is It?

I have just replaced the original batery in my Vaio PCG-Z1MP with a double-capacity one. It charges up to 62% and then accepts no more charge. How can I get it to 'fill up'?

It sounds like it is reaching a cut off point where the firmware/driver for the battery tells itself that the battery has reached its safe capacity and tells it to stop charging. I pressume this will need some firmware/driver update.
Personally I can only recommend contacting the vendor of your new battery to see if they can provide you with a solution.

Does removing the battery and then re-inserting it again allow it to continue to charge?

Try fully discharged your battery (run your Vaio on battery power until it switches off) and try charging again?

I'm trying that right now. I'll let you know. I wondered if there was something I should adjust in the system settings but I've forgotten how to interrupt the boot sequence!
