hi there, I have recenly purchased the VGN A217M, which is great, however, they have now replaced it with the A218M!! how frustrating as this new one comes with the 128MB graphics card, is there anyway of upgrading my graphics card by sending it to Sony? can it be done??
thanks in advance
I didn't find this component in the list of materials. I believe that the best is you to contact the e-support.
i'm trying to register but thier form doesn't seem to be working....:smileycry:
I think not that is possible. I would be surprise, if Sony sells graphicscard upgrates for VAIO laptops.
If yes, where is the upgrate for my FR315S?
I have spoken with sony and you cannot upgrade the internal graphics, however, you can get a external graphics card which slots into the PCmCIA port, does anybody know where to get these??:smileyconfused:
LOL, forget the PCMCIA graphicscard.
It gives PCMCIA cards like these, but they are slow and have maybe 2MB VRAM.
The PCI Bus is to slow for a graphicscard which you search.
The best is you forget this.
BTW, I wished, I have a Radeon9700 in my FR-315S.
But it's only a 7000 with shared memory!:smileycry:

Yeah, it's only usefull. If you want to run maybe, two different programs on two different screens.
For example Photoshop CS and Adobe Acrobat or similar.
Not even that, you can do that with the GRX without the card
I'm not sure, but I think I can't do this. As I have tried this, I have seen on both screens the self. I think it's time to look at the manual of my VAIO. LOL
