Games on Vista

Hello everyone! I have a vaio vgn-fe41s and i can´t install any older games on my pc... how can i solve my problem? Answer pls

warcraft 3, godfather and others...

Try installing it in XP SP2 compatibility mode. Find all the exe files on the disc, select them and right-click to get the properties up.

Click on the compatibility tab and check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and make use that the drop down box below displays "XP SP2"

Alternitivly visit the publishers website to see if there is a Vista patch for the games.

OR

Use a virtual PC such as VPC2007 and install XP in it and then install it on there. For more information on this method just ask.

A lot of games wouldn't install for me until I disabled Data Execution Prevention. Even then I still needed to run them in XP Compatability Mode. Some games will not run however hard you try.

Why would Microsoft release something like Virtual PC 2007? It wouldn't be because they realised how many problems there were with Vista would it? lol

Well they still allow you to install 3.1 on virtual PC so i guess that probably was the best operating systsem they ever made!

I never really understood 3.1 as I was brought up on ZX81s, Spectrums and Amiga's. 95 was a lot more logical so I got on with that one just fine.

The Dragon 32 was my introduction along with the BBC micro LOL

Once had a 3.1 laptop! Piece of junk. Come to think of it i have actually used all the MS OS's from 3.1 up. Modern versions of windows still contain things that were orginally used in 3.1 and haven't changed at all since.

95 was ok but 98 was possible the most reliable OS although it wasn't really that good.
