DVD-RW@VGN-397XP doesn't open

Hi all,

the sony dvd-rw, dw-d56a, combodrive can't be opened by pressing the drive open button. Only way to open it is the open submenu in windows explorer. I can hear and see on display the icon for the drive (looks like ^- "arrow above the line").

Is an option somewhere, where I have to de/activate the hardware drive open button? If not, what then?

Thanks for answers!

Mmmh, can you fix the problem with an system restart?

other point : there is a tiny hole on the drive. That's a button, with this you can open the drive. (I mean not the tiny hole on the bottom from your laptop!)

Have you installed the utilities from C:\Utils\

Thanks for answer. I didn't notice it. But still my question, the bigger button at the side of the notebook, directly in front of the drive, by pressing this button I get on the screen this green arrow above a line like changing speaker volume or display brightness. But it does not function.

Utilities are all installed, but there isn't anything for controlling dvd-rw drive. Only the boot sequence. That's all!

But thanks for answering!

Cu next day, perhaps
