Deleting VARU.exe prompt at startup?

HI All,

I've reformatted my Vaio without all the extra stuff that comes with it, so I just have a bare bones Vista install now

The only problem is on every startup it looks for VARU.exe to try to finish the install (ie. install all the extra baggage), but I cant find where this prompt is getting started from - its not in scheduled tasks... doesn anyone know where to find it, or how to stop the prompt?

Also, I need to dig out the drivers for Bluetooth, where would I be able to find them?

Cheers,

TBK

Hi theboykidney

Go to Start, click on Run and enter MSCONFIG. A System Configuartation Window should open, click the Startup tab and deselect VARU.exe, then click Apply and OK..

A message will then pop informing you that you must restart your computer before these changes will take effect. Click Yes and your computer will automatically reboot.

Once you reboot into Windows and pop-up should appear click to select Don't show this message or launch the System Configuration Utility when Windows start check box, and then click OK

Hopefully you should not see the Application Recovery prompt again...
