Changing from WPE to WPA

I used to connect my Sony Vaio PCG R600 to a wireless router using WPE encryption. (the only one available)

That router broke, so i need to connect to my apple express router which is wpa enabled.

I have upgraded the wireless driver to 7160189 and have installed the microsoft XP-k88 upgrade.

However the wireless connections window still only offers me WPE encyption.

Can I connect using WPA on this vaio? How do I upgrade the wireless conections?

thanks Steve

Welcome to ClubVAIO

What is the name of the wireless card in your VAIO (found in device manager: Right-click on my computer -> properties. On the hardware tab click the device manager button)

You need the latest drivers, and that's if only they support WPA, but most manufacturers added it.

Windows XP SP2 is a good idea too.
