I tried to play a blu-ray today on my FZ21M Windows 7 64bit. Uses the Matshita UJ-120. The disc doesnt read at all, my computer picks nothing up, windvd picks nothing up, just spins and makes some horrid noises which sound like it could be damaging the disc.
DVD's and Cd's work fine. Thing is im pretty sure I played blu-rays on a beta build of Windows 7 just fine.
It happens the same thing with me. How did you save your problem?
Thanks
havent solved it as yet pal.
Which Media Player are you using to try and play Blu-Ray discs?
If you have installed Windows 7 64-bit you will have lost the preloaded WinDVD BD.

I have tried both WinDVD and PowerDVD (I managed to extract WinDVD from the recovery drive and update it using the update files from sony), neither work. I dont even think the software will matter as the disc wont even show up in 'My Computer', just spins and spins, then gives up. nothing.
I think it might be a hardware fault, I am now typing off of my newly installed Vista, using the Sony Recovery Discs, and a Blu-Ray has again failed to be read. Im going to install all of the Sony updates before I make my final conclusion, but I think ill be in touch with Sony tomorrow to arrange a repair.
