Hello all, I have a VGN-FE31H (core2duo, 1024mb ram/120gb hdd/geforce7400) purchased in Sweden 2 months ago and haven't used the battery since. I always use the AC adapter (with the battery unplugged and unpacked from its originally plastic bag).
The model of my battery is VGP-BPS2B (11.1V/4800mAh)
So I thought Id charge my battery since I would go on a trip in 3days and would not have time to charge the battery any date later. So i charged it maximum, removed it from the laptop and placed it in the bag.
And guess what? When i plugged the battery in after 3days the power was at 15% only!!!
So I could not use my lappy on the trip and there went some work that I would have done.
When I got back I started to experiment (charge it full, remove the battery and leave it there) and again happens the same thing.. it looses it power from nowhere.
Ive never seen a battery that just looses 3/4 of its power in just DAYS.
Anyone familiar with this? isn't it unacceptable to have a battery running out that fast when its not in use?
Ive not tried to contact sony support yet, as I'm waiting for a reply from other vaio users first.
And a sidenote:
Anyone know what the american modelnumber of my laptop is? So i could have a search for more answers. The specs are VGN-FE31H, core2duo, 1024mb ram/120gb hdd/geforce7400/motion eye webcam, no bluetooth, 15.4" screen)
Hi sam.h and welcome to Club Vaio.
It sounds like a faulty battery.
Contact Sony Support IMMEDIATELY because they will probably replace your battery provided you report the fault within 90 days of purchase. After this they will not replace it.
