Insufficient storage; (I have sufficient storage)!!!

I'm trying to download apps from Google Play, and am constantly faced with the pop up message:

"Insufficient storage

This device doesn't have enough space to download "APP NAME".

Consider deleteing apps or content that you no longer need and try again."

Frustratingly though, I have over 403MB of space available on internal memory and have moved literally everything that I can do onto the SD Card.

I've restarted, cleared caches, etc. How can I solve this error? Nothing will install anymore!

no it's not normal, Mine takes up 4.1GB

and I have another 1G taken up with the sony guff

Then subtract the 500 MB you need to keep free for updates and you have no space to actually install anything

Yeah, basically Sony would like you to go online, root your phone  and then install a ROM from a possibly subious source so that you can actually get space on your phone.

It's time somone took them to court

I have now seen that there are a bunch of security patches for the Qualcom based phones (thats this one) that are critical (according to CVE)

I would like to know when Sony is going to roll the patches out to the phones in order to fix these

This Xperia aqua 4 has so little memory....terrible. I have some app transfered in my memory card but when I want to open them they don't...they are not available because in sm card. I had problem with the phone and it has been repaired and since I've got it back it's all changed. I used to be able to have move app mostly stored in my sm card and was able to access them. Any suggestions? Overall I am pretty disappointed within phone. I guess best choice is to sell it to someone who doesn't need much memory. Anyway thanks for any help. Cinzia

Settings > storage > how much free internal storage do you have?

also, settings > apps > look for heavy apps such as

Chrome

spotify

facebook

google photos

etc

and clear the app data.

I keep getting update messages for apps, but when I try to update, I'm told I am short on space. I copied some apps to my sd card, but they are still on my phone. How can I tell which apps are running from the sd card, and which are running from the phone. I have link2SD on my phone, but when I try to move an app, it says I don't have root access. Can anyone recommend a good app that will do this?

Same problem - before I had an Aqua M4 with Lollipop and I could instal apps without problem. Now (repaired Aqua with Marshmallow) I only installed several small, light apps, everything possible moved to sd card and always the same message. Lollipop didn't seem to have such problem, I had few times more apps then now and the system never said anything about space requirements. And yeah - PLEASE HELP! For the moment I want to kill Marshmallow!
