Prevent HT-A9 sound system starting up automatically?

How can I stop my HT‑A9 sound system from turning on automatically when I switch on my TV? 

I need to keep HDMI CEC enabled on my LG TV so it can recognize when the ARC/eARC device is available for audio. However, with CEC enabled, the Sony automatically powers on together with the TV. I haven't found any setting that prevents this bahvior. My TV already has fairly good speakers, and I only want to use the HT-A9 for watching movies.

Get HDMI switch that  is capable to handle eARC

Just switch off your ht while the tv is on. The tv will remember to use its speaker when switching on again. At least my lg cx works like this.
