Updater not working

I'm trying to update the firmware on my Sony Alpha A9 Mark II and have followed all the instructions on here for the Silicon Mac, I've changed the security settings and installed the driver fine, and downloaded the updater OK, however when I open the updater the window displays for about a second or two and then closes again. I've tried restarting the computer, and I've tried re-downloading the updater but nothing's worked, anyone any ideas please?

IGNORE THE ABOVE: Despite the instructions saying do not connect the camera at this point this is what the problem was, as soon as I connected the camera and then opened the software it worked
