KDL43WF663 and Remote Control Apps

I have seen some posts that allude to this, but does anyone else have an issue trying to get remote control apps (including Sideview) to work with their KDL43WF663. Any app that I have tried does not find the TV. I am using a Sony Xperia 5 and I can mirror that to my TV, but not link to the TV as a device. I have tried linking to the TV using a remote control app on an iPad and that doesn't work either. I would like to hear of any similar experiences and, of course, any resolutions if there are any.

As this is simply a Sony Bravia TV that uses the Linux operating system I do not think

you can use remote apps to connect to the TV.

You would need a Sony Android TV that runs the Android platform that

can install apps that would allow control of your TV via other apps on other devices.

Once there was this app that has been dismissed... if you can still find it in the playstore or an apk you may want to try if it support your TV even if it is not declared https://info.tvsideview.sony.net/it/

Thanks rooobb. Yes, I have SideView on my phone and that is one of the apps that doesn't connect to the TV
