hello people iv managed to turn off the uac control! woooopy

(you no that thing that pops up saying are you shure you want to run this program or change)

i think personaly if i didnt click it then i wouldnt want it 2 run lol

there is a key in the regestry you change that turns this option off.
if you need to no then plz post a string

Hi millsy417,

There is a far simpler way to turn off the User Account Control than editing the registry..

Personally I think turning of UAC will leave your system less secure, therefore I have left the setting on..

I guess at the end of the day it down to personal choice though..

UAC gets rather annoying but at least you know that nothing is being executed that you don't want. Feel much happier with it although i do know lots of people that have gotten rid of it.

Simpler Way:

1. Launch MSCONFIG by from the Run menu.

2. Click on the Tools tab. Scroll down till you find "Disable UAC". Click on that line.

3. Press the Launch button.

4. A CMD window will open. When the command is done, you can close the window.

5. Close MSCONFIG. You need to reboot the computer for changes to apply.

Note that you can re-enable UAC by selecting the "Enable UAP" line and then clicking on the Launch button.

Did anyone of you guys ever use the Windows Help? I think it's now called "Help and Support".
Just start "Help and Support" type "UAC" in the bar and press Enter.

You get all the information you need to know and a pretty simply way to disable it. No console, registry and whatever.

Most answers to your questions offers the Windows Help, if you just press that little button in your start-menu to enter your question.

If you disable UAC doesn't it keep telling you it's disabled? I tried it (can't remember which method I used) and the stupid Security Centre shield kept appearing and popping up annoying messages.

Here is a the simple way I was referring to for turning off User Account Control..

Start > type User into Start Search, then click on User Accounts > Turn User Account Control on or off > click OK..

To turn back simply follow the above again..
