    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;PRE __jive_macro_name="quote" class="jive_text_macro jive_macro_quote"&gt;HI All,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I've reformatted my Vaio without all the extra stuff that comes with it, so I just have a bare bones Vista install now &lt;img class="lia-deferred-image lia-image-emoji" src="https://community.sony.si/html/@3191CA7235A406D833094BA2DD1CF2FF/images/smilies/011.png" alt=":slight_smile:" title=":slight_smile:" /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The only problem is on every startup it looks for VARU.exe to try to finish the install (ie. install all the extra baggage), but I cant find where this prompt is getting started from - its not in scheduled tasks... doesn anyone know where to find it, or how to stop the prompt?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/PRE&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hi theboykidney&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Go to Start, click on Run and enter MSCONFIG. A System Configuartation Window should open, click the Startup tab and deselect VARU.exe, then click Apply and OK..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;A message will then pop informing you that you must restart your computer before these changes will take effect. Click Yes and your computer will automatically reboot.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Once you reboot into Windows and pop-up should appear click to select Don't show this message or launch the System Configuration Utility when Windows start check box, and then click OK&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hopefully you should not see the Application Recovery prompt again... &lt;img class="lia-deferred-image lia-image-emoji" src="https://community.sony.si/html/@3191CA7235A406D833094BA2DD1CF2FF/images/smilies/011.png" alt=":slight_smile:" title=":slight_smile:" /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
