Hello and "Help" to Club Vaio members

I have Windows XP installed on a VAIO VGN-FS515E. From time to time, my desktop settings seem to change (I'm not aware of making any changes). Subsequently, when I minimize any open windows, they disappear "into" the toolbar rather than minimizing onto it in the normal way. I can later find them again by using the task manager, However, the only way I can undo the processm is is to open a new profile (user account) and start again from scratch. I am hoping that this is a simple error on my part rather thatn a virus.

I have tried to use the system recovery tool, but have never been able to find a recovery point that I am allowed to use. I suspect that this is a separate problem for which further suggestions would be equally appreciated.

Many thanks in advance for any suggestions - expert or otherwise.

Frookie
