The first thing I did when I got my AR21S was to install HL2 and when the sound came up all screwy I nearly cried!

It's the Sonic Stage Mastering Studio Audio Filter thing running in your System Tray (little grey square with RUN written on it). Right click on it and select Options -> Programs not affected -> Add and then browse to the executable for HL2 etc.

I still have some problems with some mods for HL2 but setting the speakers to 7.1 has cleared it up in most cases.

Another side effect of playing HL2 is that if you use ICQ you might end up with a black rectangle on the screen you can't seem to get rid of. Closing ICQ will get rid of it.

Hi, i have had a Vaio AR21s for a while now and there are a number of games that are causing me problems with sound.

These are: Half-Life 2 (But not Counter Strike Source)
Oblivion
Rome: Total War

The sound echos and becomes slightly distorted. Can anyone tell me what is going on or what i can do to fix it?

If you need any more information just ask.

Dafydd
