Vaio VGN FE31Z camera problem

Hi all together!
I have a problem with the camera sine I upgraded to vista.
Before vista the camera could be started with the vaio camera utility.
Now with vista this program doesn't work and so I can't change the camera settings.
I have installed all vista updates, the newest camera driver and the newest camera utility.

I hope that somebody could tell me how to solve this problem.

Hi sebastianstreit and welcome.

Vista and cameras don't seem to go together very well!

Have you tried downloading and installing Microsoft Hotfix KB931812?

The Camera Utility can't be opened in Vista as it could in XP - it should open automatically when you use Skype or another IM program.

Open Skype -> Tools -> Options -> Video Settings
Enable Skype Video and select Sony Visual Communication Camera. You should see your own image in the box and Vaio Camera Utility should open automatically.

If not press Alt+Ctrl+Del and Start Task Manager. Is the process VCUServe.exe running?

Using the camera with skype works very well. :smileygrin:
I thought it would be possible to open the camera utility in vista as it was in XP and because this didn't work I thought there was something wrong.
