Wireless connection Problem

Hello Friends!
I am new in this club. I purchased my VAIO Notebook that VGN series in this May. I am living with 5 other friends and we all have indivisual notebooks. We all have wireless connection for Internet. The internet speet is too good. But, I am facing problems in this regard. Al other guys are using Internet without any problem but I am facing disconnection problem and it happens 3-5 times in a day and specially when I do video chat with my family and friends using yahoo and it happens also when I use google talk for voice chat. I asked about it to my friends but no one is facing this problem and I also have seen that they all use yahoo for video n vice chat and nobody is facing this problem.
I think in this Vaio, the wireless device is bad and its really a shit becoz it makes me angry most of the time when it gets disconnected while talking to family.

you can understand what I mean.

If there anyone who can help me in this regard, I would be thankful to him/her

Hi gschandel and welcome to Club Vaio.

Exactly which model Vaio do you have? If we know, we can probably point you to some updated wireless drivers that may help.

I presume you are using Vista? Try going to Start -> Control Panel -> Device Manager.
Expand the Network Adapters branch and double-click on your Wireless Adapter.
Under Power Management make sure the box "Allow the Computer to turn off this device to save power" is unchecked.
Under Advanced, click on Transmit Power and make sure 5 = Highest is selected in the drop down box.

These may help but the best chance is the updated driver.

Yeap, updating the driver fixed the problem on my Vaio.

If you have the intel 3945ABG card which is common in the VAIO range then here is the driver:

You want the Vista driver above^^

Just install it and it should work much better.
