sz5 suddenly switces off

i've just started playing s.t.a.l.k.e.r. on my sz5 and after about 4 mins playing, the laptop suddenly turns off.....it doesn't shut down, it just turs off, like someone pulled the battery and power lead out.....i'm positive this can't be good for it!!
i noticed that it is quite hot underneath, could the heat buildup be responsible for the sudden power-off? If so, surely design features should shut it down peacefully before it got to this abrupt stage. or maybe it's just a serious bug in the game?
appreciate any opinions....i like this game, but i don't want to damage my hdd.

It definately sounds like an overheating problem.

Try Core Temp

or PC Wizard to get temperature readings.

Post them here so we can have a look

Are all your vents clear?

Hi jumpsuit.....yes the vents are clear, laptop is only a month old.
I tried coretemp and results as follows, computer seems to die at 74 degrees.
I've never experienced this in all my computing years....surely something is seriously wrong??
