FUNCTION KEYS

Hello,

Can anyone shed any light on this probelm for me. I have installed Sony Vaio Notebook Setup Utility yet it does not open. It shows it running in the process tray in task manager and uses alot of resources) yet I don't have the user interface for it. I need to know how to make it work as my function keys aren't working and I need to find a way to get them to work again. I have uninstalled and re-installed the utility yet it still does the same.

Any help would be appreaciated.

Hi Miranda and welcome to Club Vaio.

Are you using XP Or Vista?
What model do you have?

For the function keys to work you will need to install some of the Utilities in the correct order:

1 Sony Utilities (installer folder 1)
2 Sony Shared Library (installer folder 2)
3 Vaio Event Service (installer folder ?)

And then re-boot your Vaio - you may have to repeat the process!

hello,

i have a vaio notebook PCG-K model K295HP and it's running XP Professional

i am not sure if i have the correct sony utilities folder as i cannot seem to find the things you told me to install.

you can download the Utilities for your K295HP from here

Once downloaded extract the K_2Utilities.zip, once completed unzip and install the following files..

1 Sony Utilities
2 Sony Shared Library
3 Hotkey Utiltity
