S5XP + Vista = Dodgy brightness controls, can anyone help?

Hi guys,

I have installed Vista Ultimate on my S5XP, seems to run really well.
Everything works (kind of, the wireless does not connect after coming out of sleep, driver issue i guess) except when i try and adjust the brightness, the on screen bar will not change, it just sticks on one notch. The volume works fine.

Can anyone help?

Hi Churchwa,

You're not the only one with this problem! I have the same (brand-new) Vaio SZ5XP, also running Vista and can't dim the screen more than a single notch. *Very* annoying.

Did you manage to resolve?
Any help from Sony??

For the wireless problem here is the microsoft fix.

As for the brightness problem i find this only happens after hibenation or sleep so do a full restart and it usually works fine.
