I have vaio FE21H with Windows XP installed on it. My web cam was working fine before i got the LCD repaired by Sony. After that the web cam only works for the first time after I restore the Vaio completely. After that the camera do not start.

I ckecked after the second power on and the camera can not ne found in the Device manager, instead I see one Unkown device under the USB Devices. I tried to update the driver from this plae manually but it do not take the driver which is stored in C:\VAIO Applications\Drivers\Camera\VGP-VCC1. there is a file called usbvm321.inf i think this is the driver file but it do not get updated even manually!

I don't think this is a hardware problem as after every system restore it works for the first time untill i reboot.

Hi chauhanupendra,

Download the original drivers from here and extract the files.

Then goto device manger and right click once on the Camera and select properties.

Select the 'Driver' tab and click on Update driver. A new Hardware Update Window should appear, select Install from a list or specific location (advanced) and click next

The window now changes select 'Don't search I will choose the driver to install' and click next. Then select have disc and browse to the new Camera driver that you downloaded..

Wait for the driver to install then click Finish, a System Settings Change window should now appear prompting you to Restart your Computer and click Yes to restart..

Hi Thalasmus,
Thnx for the reply. I tried it but it didn't work.
As i told ealier I don't see the web cam in the Imaging Devices, instead I see it in USBdevices as Unkown device. I even tried uninstalling this one and reinstall but it always comes as unknown device.
Even updat driver at this unknown device don't work. It says this is not the kind of Driver for this device.
Refer to the snapshot of my device manager attached here.
