Hi Everyone

I hope someone can help me out here?
When I turned my laptop on today I went to use my Bluetooth mouse and it would not work. My first thought was the batteries.

Then I noticed in my taskbar was a notification that said;
USB Device Not Recognized
One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem click here.

On clicking a new window opens which says USB Device not recognized.
The location of the device is shown below in bold type.

It shows a diagram like the one in device manager with little pictures of USB plugs, the 1st one says;

USB root hub (2 ports) connected to this are 2 more usb plugs
one says; unknown device (in bold type)
the other says; unused port underneath it says;
Recommendation
Try reconnecting the device. If windows still does not recognize it replace it.

I have 3 USB ports and they all have power to them. I tried to plug in a wireless mouse receiver and on doing so I get exactly the same thing happen no matter which port I plug into.

I have plugged in a seperate 4 port hub I have and it powers up, if I then plug a USB device into the hub it works fine.

Does this mean my USB card or whatever it is, is broke?
If it is will it cost a lot to get repaired does anyone know?

I am not very technically minded so sorry for the lack of knowledge, I have typed what came up on the screen word for word.
Using the wireless mouse via the usb hub works fine but the bluetooth mouse still will not work.
Thanks in advance for any help
Simon
