Hello,

Just bought new new Vaio this morning to replace my old one which died on me suddenly yesterday.

On the whole I like it, but I've a few niggling concerns with it that I wondered if anyone has had and can maybe tell me they are nothing to worry about.

When I tried to create the recovery disks (as soon as I've run the initial setup) the software seemed to hang creating the 3rd DVD, sticking at 99% for a very very long time. I couldn't kill the program, or eject the DVD tray, so ended up rebooting. Following the reboot, it wrote the 3rd DVD (to a new disk). That stuck at 99% again, but not for anywhere near as long as the first time. I've run the hardware diagnostics and it reports all is fine, although it struggled running the funnel test on a USB drive also! And it's started playing back a movie ok also.

Also, the two trackpad buttons seem a little, well, uncomfortable at first. They seem very flush with the surrounding case on their outer edges (left and right), but where they meet in the middle, they seem a little raised. If you look at the profile of the buttons themselves, they do appear to curve up slightly in the middle. Does anyone know if this is a design decision to try and let the user know he may have moved over from one to the other accidentally? I guess I'm just a little concerned that the switches underneath are ok. I've been setting it up for a few hours now and they click fine... it's just feels a little odd to the finger.

Many thanks
Mark
