Sonicstage 3.0 is drving me absolutely nuts!

Where shall I start,

SS3.0 won't open properly unless a propram is above it, i.e. winamp always stays on top of it's taskbar or nothing will load.

It wants me to iniatalise my player fair enough, that can be done.

Now renaming and sorting 3000 songs has tooken me an entire week!

Now this is where it gets frustrating I want to add album art to an album which contains various artists, It sorts the artists in the album, I dont want it to do that!!!

Preferred ss 2.3, If I do revert back to 2.3 will i lose progress of my renamed songs? As they were only renamed via SS

Words cannot describe how bad SS is, I'm considering on selling my pocket vaio If i can't sort some of these problems. Tthe player is awesome but the software is unbearable

Would be greatful If anybody can assist me in any of my questions

Unfortunately, I doubt we'll ever see drastic changes to the chumpness of SS !!! Sony really need to go back to roots with this and build ground up, I am also dissapointed with Sonys' software, I lost over 3000 songs when Sony said all will be lost but music when I had to initialise my device...

Cool player as most people agree but sadly let down by sh!t software !!!

Dunno about reverting back to 2.3, think you are gonna have to ride it out and wait for 3.1 or someat...

i wonder why sony cares enough to update them!:smileyconfused:

i dont know about going back to ss2.3
i think you can do that but youd have to erase all the registry logs in order to get completely rid of the 3.0

samartin's proposal is the only conclusion i guess...and nobody knows when sony programmers will get to update ss next,plus the update doesnt have to be better than 3.0:smileywink:

personally i havent installed 3.0 i think it causes more harm than good!

I agree with MadarbWot, I have advoided SS 3 like the plague and will continue to advoid till people on this forum say that it actually works properly. I will stick with2.3!!!!

thats what i thought in the first place tankgirltaz...

not that the 2.3 is ok itself but seems to work better than the new one!

maybe if sony publishes another update which seems to be better...but i really doubt that.

Would this be possible, Say I transfer ALL my music to pocket vaio via SS3.0, then downgrade to 2.3 then transfer from pocket vaio to SS2.3

Would that work out?

never tried it but i guess it could be done only if your music is in atrac form!

other than that you can just downgrade ss and then put in the files again,provided that you have them in your hard disk or cd...

I had this problem when I first upgraded to SS3 and had to load taskmanager over its taskbar. Without anything over it it will use 100% CPU usage and take ages to load.

I did find a solution though:

Does the taskbar of SS3 flicker? Do you use a Windows theme manager?

If yes to the above then you will need to change your theme. For some reason SS3 dosn't like certian themes. They worked fine with 2.3 but not with 3.
