Please HELP. Remote won't start DVD

I have recently uninstalled Cyberlink DVD player that came with my computer and I have installed Nero6. My remote button starts up my TV, Video, Music and Home Network, but not my DVD. When I press my DVD button I get a error message saying that USB102 cannot find the registry key of Giga pocket. Giga pocket might not be installed correctly. Has anyone had this problem and found a solution for it.

why dont u try un installing the nero and re install the original software you had???

Nero 6 isn't a DVD playing application. You shouldn't have uninstalled WinDVD.

Even if you had installed another DVD player it wouldn't have worked with the remote control. You need to reinstall & use the supplied version of WinDVD from the application recovery disk.

The remote only works with WinDVD, just tested it now.

remote control, mine also is not working, but I connot find WinDvD. Was this delivered with my Vaio PCV-W1? It did not work with Giga pocket, although that did start the DvD I entered.

Indeed, and I tried this again. So I started power DVD, turned op the keyboard [Vaio PCV-W1} and pressed dvd on remote control. Giga pocktet then starts automatically. So I stoppen Giga pocket first, to see how things went with power DVD . then at pressing the remote control om dvd , the error [usbsircs] USB102 "Cannot find the registry key of Giga pocket. Giga pocket might not be installed correctly." So how do I solve this problem? Both Gig Pocket and Power DVD do not react on remote control.

Reinstall the utilities from C:\Utils

Just done the reinstall from C: utils, but that had no effect. I started with power dvd, turned the keyboard, pressed dvd on the remote, giga pocket did start [as the only dvd player for this remote control?] and gave the same error on the regsitry key.. Any other suggestions?

I know this sounds wierd, but did you install DirectX lately?

Not that I was aware of, but I searched with explorer and indeed, an anti spy ware program was installed recently in DirectX. Should I un-install it?

not yet anything, you asked me if I had recently installed DirectX, so I found out that indeed that was the case whn I did install anti spyware. My question now is, what to do ...to get my remote control to work for my dvd player on my vaio pcv w1 ...which was the iinitial question...

DorectX should be fine, but try to uninstall that anti-spyware app as it might be conflicting.

I have a PCV-RS502 and *exactly* the same issue... and desperatly tried the same things !

Have you got answers to our problems ?

I'm still searching...

The [very] poor solution I found is to plug my old good remote wonder I got from an ATI card on a previous computer...
Well now, my both ends are full of remotes...

I opened a case on e-support on march 6th, but no response for now... so i'm still waiting...
