      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Greetings tech-savvy peeps!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;I&gt;THE BORING HISTORY BIT...&lt;/I&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I am one of those 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' kinds of people.&lt;BR /&gt;I got my VAIO because I've never been let down by any Sony product and i liked what i saw when it came to the PCV-RZ424 - it's just what i wanted, and amazingly it still is.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;So much so that there's very little changed with it since purchase, sure there's been a few updates in the Sony software, but i never updated the Drag 'n' Drop software, because it worked &lt;img class="lia-deferred-image lia-image-emoji" src="https://community.sony.si/html/@9CAC7F4BDC92F34A189F361DB4AE39C8/images/smilies/001.png" alt=":grin:" title=":grin:" /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Now when i came around to burning a Dual Layer DVD - nothing!&lt;BR /&gt;So I attempted to update the Drag ' n' Drop software. only to find that it's no longer available.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;I&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size: 3; "&gt;THE ACTUAL QUESTION I WOULD LIKE ANSWERED...&lt;/SPAN&gt;  &lt;/I&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;So what are my alternatives to Drag 'n' Drop CD+DVD?&lt;BR /&gt;What software should i replace this with???&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks in advance to anyone who can help&lt;BR /&gt;J&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Welcome to CV.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;XP or Vista?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://www.nero.com" target="_blank"&gt;Nero&lt;/A&gt; is good for everything but you do have to pay for it.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm" target="_blank"&gt;Iso Recorder&lt;/A&gt;  is very good for making iso's of the disc (for backups on HD) and then burns them although this is the same think that both Vista (CD and DVD) and XP (CD's only) can do.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

The DVD-ROM in both drives will READ commercially produced DVD-DL discs but neither can write to DL discs.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;There are firmware updates for the drives here at &lt;A href="http://support.vaio.sony.co.uk/downloads/select/select.asp?site=voe_en_GB_cons&amp;amp;category=1&amp;amp;serie=PCV-RZ&amp;amp;m=1401" target="_blank"&gt;Sony Support for RZ-424&lt;/A&gt; but I don't think any of these are to enable DL burning.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Both Nero and Roxio do a packet writing add-in for Drag-n-Drop.  It is called InCD with Nero and Drag-to-DVD in Roxio.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;img class="lia-deferred-image lia-image-emoji" src="https://community.sony.si/html/@0248C33DDCF34AA61B8F8F33F5AFA5BE/images/smilies/013.png" alt=":wink:" title=":wink:" /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
