topic Maximum memory for PCG-R600mx?? in PCs & Accessories

Hi there. I love my R600mx and don't really have the cash/incentive to upgrade to the latest models.

But I only have 128mb of RAM on the machine which is a pain. The documentation says that I can add one more memory module, to make a total of 256Mb. But I have read that it is possible to exceed this limit, and add a 256mb module instead, making a total of 384Mb.

Has anyone else tried this? Did it work or was there a problem with the BIOS??

Many thanks,
Leo

Here's a link to the article I read (sorry about the long link!):

http://groups.google.co.uk/groups?hl=en&lr=lang_en&threadm=3c8dcc89%40212.67.96.135&rnum=11&prev=/groups%3Fq%3Dr600%2Bmemory%26start%3D10%26hl%3Den%26lr%3Dlang_en%26selm%3D3c8dcc89%2540212.67.96.135%26rnum%3D11

Microsoft said 128MB is enough, but that's Bullsh*t. I have tryed this and it's .........

But I think it's possible

look here: (max: 384MB RAM)

http://www.satech.com/sony-notebook-memory-sony-vaio-pcg-r-series-memory-sony-vaio-pcg-r600mx-memory.html
