Battery in the FS115M

Hello

I just bought a nice super VAIO VGN-FS115M. It is quite cool but the battery doesn't seem to last too long, around 90 minutes. It's that normal ?

If I look at the VAIO-link, I see approx 120 minutes.
But that I think that isn't real better for new VAIO with newest Centrino technology.

But have a look at the Energy Management. There you can change between different Energy profiles.

LOL, I P4 without speedstep in my laptop and it runs 50-60 minutes too. I think not that Sony has maked a good job here.

I have heard the FS series doesn't have great battery power, even the A series did better than this.

Thought they had the new Centrino in there?

Fact is, the new Centrino has a higher energy consuption as the old.

The reason is the general higher speed. The PM Dothan was disigned for more Power not like the PM Banias which was only designed for a low energy conspuption.

I think it would be better if Sony use a PM with Low or UltraLow voltage for a buisness laptop and not a 1,7GHz CPU. The FS is definitly not a buisness laptop.

I'm not sure what sort of laptop it is to be honest Seb, it's not gaming, it's not really business and it's a bit flash for home.

I think Sony went with the FS a totally wrong way.:smileysad: It's not a full and not a half thing. That make it difficult to see the good sites of the FS-series.

First of all, thank you all. I was also making some research and it seems 2 hours of battery is the max. I will get with my laptop.

I have been playing today and I find it quite good. The GeForce Go 6200 seems to be quite fast and also the size and weight of the laptop is the right one to take it to the Lan Parties :smileygrin:

I will , at least until I win a lottery and can buy me a nice Alienware laptop for almost 3000 euros

Going back to the battery. I just noticed something strange: Even when the battery is 100% full, I still see the Windows icon as if the battery still been charged. Should I worry about this or it is only one of the thousand Windows bugs?

My friend plays in LAN parties and has his own cube - it's a nice machine.
