New A7 II - LCD back screen keeps going "black" often when tilting camera or rotating etc. Is this normal?

Is it something to do with focus or what is it?

It seems a bit random for being a battery saving thing or screensaver?

Brand new charged battery.

Lens is the 28-70mm bundle one.

Need to know if camera is faulty or not.

Hello @sudden76,

could it be you somehow activate the proximity sensor on the viewfinder (could be with your hand or with the cameras strap)?

This activates the digital view finder and switches the screen off.

I've had the same problem with my A7. If I use the camera at waste level (using the neck strap) and set the screen horintally then the screen goes black - I found that if I hold the camera away from my body the screen will work so it seems that the proximity sensor picks up my body.
