SD Card not working - XZ2 compact

I set my new ph up about 3 months ago with a new SD card, all was working well at first. Now on Android 9. Recently I tried to play some music for the first time in a while & discovered that the ph is not seeing the SD card at all. Same for another SD card that also works OK in other devices.

My PC sees the card no problem (out of the ph) it looks like the last time data was written to it was mid Feb. What is going on here?

Going to Settings -> storage, anything special?

Restarting in safe mode, same procedure, anything special?

Thanks, the SD card is not showing up on the 'Storage' screen at all. I have restarted several times without it it making a difference but will look up how to do that in 'safe mode' & report back.

OK, tried Safe Mode - no difference. It is like there is no SD card in the slot. Plugging the ph into my PC shows the same thing - the internal storage is visible in file manager but no SD card.

it'll be wise to repair the phone with Xperia Companion before you send it in to get inspected/repaired.
