The sounds control is broken on Xperia XZ Premium broken. When you push volume button the volume control panel shows up with media slider. Thats ok. But if you tap on settings gear under slider it should show all volume sliders next to media volume slider but instead of it it brings you to phone volume settings.

This is so uncomfortable. Did you make it this way or it's broken? Because on Pixel/other phones it acts different (as I described above).

I don't like this way of control, at least put default of what we change to be ringer cause I'm often changing volume depending where I am(home, office, street, gym, and lot more), and when I select gear and change volume at volume panel then the sound plays which is very annoying for ringer, I don't want that to happen when I'm in meeting or such and change volume only to make noise while doing it, I often don't need vibrations there, just making it more quiet

Yes, it's terrible. I often lower down media volume instead of ringtone. And that noise while manually setting ringtone volume level it's terrible. Sony should give us option to set this setting.

This is unacceptable. EVERYBODY needs to be able to quickly mute their ringer when they go into a meeting (It's important to be able to set a time limit for the mute, too, which I was ble tp do with the Shush app until this useless update.) We need a fix!

To set a timer you will need to press and hold on the Do not disturb icon in the Quick settings > Duration.

I had a look in the Google Play store and the Shush application has not been update since early 2017, so it might not be fully working with Android Pie, but you can always send the developers an Email.

As someone mentioned, the ringtone volume is previewed when you adjust the volume in settings.

At best, it is useful the first time, but not the 1000 following times when you already know what visual level you want, and need to quickly silently adjust the ringtone volume.

Sad to say that I am looking for an app/widget to rebind the volume keys to how it was before the update

Exactly! We need to be able to adjust "default" value of volume rocker, I for example want it back to adjust i coming calls / notifications vokume with the rocker directly and not sub menu! Also playing the sound automarically in sub_menu is annoying.

This bug must be fixed immediately!

Yes, When the control volume appears you need to tighten the configuration gear, and it will send you to the options of other volumes. the only shortcut is to put on vibrator and not bother at the top.

@MehrdadVz, Do I understand that you are using a third party messaging application and that one is no longer working after updating to Android Pie? If that is the case, check if there are any updates to the application available in the Google Play store, as the version you have installed may not be fully compatible with Android Pie.

If there are no updates available, you can find the contact information to the developer of the application in the Google Play store and send them the information, so they are aware of this.

@azzido, There is no setting to change the behaviour of the volume slider and to adjust the ring/notification volume, you will need to tap the cogwheel and manually adjust it in the audio settings. This is the default behavior in Android 9.0, so there is no bug.

@Dcorrea, that is correct. With the "bell" icon, you can either mute all notification/ring sound, only vibration and of course, sound on.

@ReneMeyer, You can not change it back to how it was in Android Oreo, as this is the new behaviour in Android 9.0 (Pie).

I do understand that this change does not suit everyone and I'll continue to forward all the feedback that I receive about this!
