The test can be found in Settings > Support > Tests > Microphone.

If the microphone is not working in this test, try restarting your device in safe mode and do the same test again, so we can see if this is caused by a downloaded application or not.

Let me know how it goes!

As the microphone works fine in the test and you have done nearly all troubleshooting available for the device, have you tried with a different SIM card in your device?

You can either order a new one from your operator, pick one up in a store if they have any close to where you live or borrow a SIM card from a friend, colleague or family member and see if that helps.

Let me know how it goes!

Hi again @saravanan3434, thank you so much for this information.

It sounds very strange. It's like the main microphone stops working during the call and then you switch over to the second microphone (by activating speaker phone) that works fine.

The only thing that is left to try in the device as you have done the other troubleshooting is to change the network type and see if that changes anything. You can do this in Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile networks > Preferred network type. Set this to 2G/GSM only if that is available for you (I know some operators has completely removed their 2G network).

Should you still experience the same behaviour, I recommend that you get in touch with your Local support team so they can arrange a repair for you.

Feel free to keep me posted!

thanks Jonas for your reply i tried your option to choose 2g gsm only method, it didn't work. recently i installed sony voice recorder app to check microphone working condition, in that i found primary mic power (gain) has reduced due to age, but secondary mic is working fine. due to this during call primary mic voice is less and secondary mic noise is high, secondary microphone acting for noise cancellation 'reducing or creating distrotion' in my voice during call (my assumption). i think due power (gain) difference in microphone screwed up the noise cancellation function and creating distortion in my voice during call. when i put in loudspeaker mode both microphone try to catch my voice so my voice was clear. i tried a idea and it worked for me. what i have done is " i covered my secondary mic with tape and called my friend, he was able hear me clearly during call but voice is bit low then normal. i think noise cancellation is creating distortion. is there any option to cancel "noise cancellation" feature during call in android 8.0.0.

Hi again @saravanan3434, I apologize for the late reply.

Thank you for all the information and you are correct, the second microphone will also handle the noise suppression during calls.

The option to turn off noise suppression was removed in Android 6.0, due to it always being activated in Android 6 and later Android versions.

Since it got a bit better after you covered the second microphone, there is something very wrong with the second microphone and your device will need to be examined at an authorized service centre and you will find instructions how to have it sent it, in my previous reply.

Keep me posted!
