I have been trying to access my photos and videos stored on the 32gb sdcard installed in my M2 via bluetooth from my Android tablet however it is not visible and I have not been able to find anyway to do this. I can see the sdcard just fine on the phone itself and when connected to my PC by USB.

Can someone please explain how I view and transfer photos using bluetooth from my tablet?

Stuart

Not sure I understand. Do you have a tablet or an Xperia M2?

I thought I had made it clear I have an Android tablet AND an Xperia M2.

They are connected via bluetooth (paired) and when looking at the M2 from the tablet I am unable to see the photos and videos stored on the 32gb sdcard in the M2. I know I can see them OK on the M2 but expected to be able to see the contents of the M2 sdcard from the tablet via bluetooth. I expected to be able to use the tablet to see the photos but it's not happening.

Stuart

OK so basically you can only push with Bluetooth and not pull. I maintain that on the Andoid tablet I should be at least able to view the data on the M2 sd card so I can see the photos. If this is the case it is a failing of the Android system as implemented by Sony.

Can anyone explain why I am unable to view the sdcard on my M2 from the Android tablet, if it allows all my photos and videos to be stored on the sdcard it makes no sense at all that I am unable to at least view the data over bluetooth from another device.

Stuart

As far as I'm aware this is a security matter in that if anyone was paired to a device then you could access and look at files which would be deemed personal - I wouldn't want my wife who is paired to me been able to access my files on my SD card and vice versa - I tested this with Samsung GS4 Xperia M2, Z1 and Z Ultra and a LG G4 and non of which had the ability to do what you ask so this is not something which is solely a fault of Sony

I can accept that it might not be a default to be able to view the sdcard, however in my case I have nothing on my phone or tablet that I would not want my wife or even grandchildren to see since in this case the photos are of my wife and grandchildren or of trips we take togther!

What I am saying is that it seems to me to be unreasonable for there not to be an option to allow acces to the sd card over bluetooth.

If anyone finds the phone and plugs it in to any computer they can view the sd card contents no problem. So there is your great big security hole anyway. It requires no operation by the user o the phone to allow this, so even if it is locked the data is visible.

Stuart
