Hi Could someone tell me why the screen goes blank on Z5 Compact AFTER a call has been connected. I'm fed up having to redial over and over. My phone HAS the latest software update. Thank you.

Can you post the screen shot. When call is in progress or connected the proximity sensor detects anything near it and switch off the display for that period of time. Remove anything from near the phone screen.

If this is not the case, please clear cache and data of phone app

@ashishsingh007's suggestions are great, if your phone has a protective case and/or protective film that could be the culprit.

Thank you for your reply and I appreciate your help. Removing the protective film did help for a while but now the problem has returned. I truly appreciate you taking the time to answer my query.

Can you do one thing? Place a call don't put it near your year put it on loud speaker. Keep touching photo part of screen, Does it go black ? Or second thing place a call put the phone on table, don't switch to loud speaker. Keep touching the photo which is shown while call in progress don't take your hand near top speaker (near proximity sensor ). Down screen goes blank?

If answer to both is No. Then your phone is fine.

Hi there. Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to contact me. I've tried everything possible on this handset. I've recently upgraded from Xperia Z3-Xperia Z5. The way this is going I'll be going back to the Z3 very quickly. The PC Companion won't even recognise the Z5 on any PC....not just mine.. But thank you again. I truly appreciate your reply.
