What you can try is to rename the .dbk file to .zip or .rar and see if you can extract some things.
Sat, 03 Oct 2015 23:05:10 GMT _alexdon_ 2015-10-03T23:05:10Z https://community.sony.si/t5/xperia-archive/backup-and-restore-not-working/m-p/3396329#M491416
I have had a replacement phone sent to me as mine broke and I have tried to restore my backup. The new phone has got Lollipop and the last backup was done when my phone had KitKat - how can I retrieve this very important data? I use PC companion and have the backup on my PC. (I actually have the last 10)
Sat, 03 Oct 2015 23:01:53 GMT https://community.sony.si/t5/xperia-archive/backup-and-restore-not-working/m-p/3396329#M491416 DLF65 2015-10-03T23:01:53Z https://community.sony.si/t5/xperia-archive/backup-and-restore-not-working/m-p/3396330#M491417
Sorry, you cannot restore backups made on different software versions.
