Is my Z2 still waterproof?

Hi

I bought a Z2 a little bit more than a year ago now and I'm really happy with it, I took photos underwater and it was really cool, but two months ago, my phone fell on the ground and the top front is a little bit damaged (nothing big). I'm scared to put it underwater now as I don't know if it is still going to be waterproof.

Here is a photo of the phone. As you can see it's nothing too deep, it seems to be only the plastic that's damaged but as I don't really know how the waterproof thing works I'm not too sure.

Thanks.

Clément

I wouldn't risk it, contact your local Xperia Care and request a vacuum test

Based on recent reports, our phones aren't water proof.

I put my phone in water to take some pictures, the same day, my phone stopped working. After a couple of weeks of it being in a sock drawer, it started working again.

I had my Z2 in a tech21 case and in my waterproof jacket pocket.

During the rain, I took it out and the screen was un-responsive.

I checked the charging port flap, as the tech21 covers the other flaps - all good.

Screen went black and can't use it now. O2 say it's not covered by them as there is an inherent issue with Sony's "Waterproof for 30 mins at 1.5m depth" claim.

Boxed the Z2 up and now sending to Sony Repair depot - lets see what the outcome is!!!

Otherwise, its a fantastic phone!

Many reports about the waterproof Xperia devices, the truth is, Sony says they are suddenly not because of the covers.

I am sorry for my delayed message.

I have got the information, that the Xperia series is not as waterproof as it was. The advertisements have been updated now. However, that is a bad image Sony did.
